Sam serves as the Training and Education Manager, helping to lead the development of The Champions Network training platform. In this capacity, he creates and delivers training sessions for coaches, clinicians and educators across the world who want to learn more about the Doc Wayne model of trauma-informed care and sport-based therapy.
Sam joined the Doc Wayne team in September of 2019 as a Therapeutic Mentor and Community Coach. In these roles, he worked with youth 1:1 to help them reach their therapeutic goals, and with groups of youth in school or community settings facilitating various therapeutic programs.
Sam received his B.A. in psychology with honors from College of the Holy Cross. Prior to Doc Wayne, he worked with youth in Seattle, where he merged his passions for the outdoors, mindfulness and youth development. Sam has played basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis and ultimate frisbee at various stages in his life, but his original love will always be table tennis. He spends his free time competing in LGBTQ flag football and dodgeball leagues and tending to his garden.
