Joshua Salter

A long-time friend and former employee of Doc Wayne, Josh rejoins the team as a facilitator for The Champion’s Network.

Josh graduated from Boston University with his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a Specialization in Sport Psychology after graduating from Florida State University with a Psychology degree. Josh is as competitive as they come as he grew up playing basketball and football in the hot, Floridian sun. He focused on football in high school where he played both cornerback and safety. He continues to play both competitively and recreationally and has since added tennis.

As a Master’s level clinician, Josh worked for several nonprofits supporting youth through counseling, mentorship, and therapeutic intervention. He brings experience advocating for youth and developing curriculums that promote their social-emotional learning. In addition to his role at Doc Wayne, Josh serves as Founding Program Director at the He Is Me Institute where he focuses on developing and retaining men of color in the education field. In his free time, Josh enjoys reading, writing, cooking, playing guitar, and, of course, playing sports.
