Austin has recently joined Doc Wayne as a Clinical Intern, where he will be helping to facilitate therapeutic recess, Chalk Talk Groups, in addition to working with some individual clients. He graduated from Fitchburg State University with a BS in Psychology where he also was the Director of Special Olympics and is currently pursuing his MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in the Couples and Families track, with a concentration in African-American & Caribbean Mental Health. In addition, Austin has over 4 years of experience in the field of behavioral and mental health care in his work as both a Residential Counselor at a program for youth individuals with cognitive and behavioral disorders, and as an ABA Therapist with children on the Autism spectrum. With an aspiration to become a Mental Health Therapist, his career goals include de-stigmatizing mental health, making strides to eliminate mental health disparities in the African-American community, and hopefully having his own private practice in the future.
Austin is very passionate about sports and is an NBA superfan. He has experience both playing and coaching basketball, baseball, and soccer for most of his life, and still plays in recreational basketball leagues in his free time!
