Doc Wayne harnesses the power of sport to provide innovative mental health programming incorporating social-emotional learning and life skills. Our staff lead weekly sessions with youth, ages 5-18, designed to support them as they process and persevere through adversity. Position Description

Doc Wayne Youth Services is seeking to hire a Training and Education Manager. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Training and Education Manager will be a driven and organized professional with exceptional communication skills. The Training and Education Manager will play a critical role in development of Doc Wayne’s brand-new Champions Network training program. The Training and Education Manager will be responsible for the functions outlined below. This position is for an entrepreneurial minded individual who is passionate, intelligent, proactive, with strong interpersonal skills, and who is ready to aid our organization and strengthen our impact on youth across the country while finding ways to support our efforts for long-term sustainability.

Essential Functions

Training & Facilitation:

· Serve as a Lead Facilitator for Doc Wayne’s Champions Network trainings (virtually and in person)

· Provide coaching and consultation to coaches, clinicians, teachers, and others on the use and integration of Doc Wayne’s curriculum, resources, and tools

· Support Doc Wayne’s Champions Network clients on the use of sport as a therapeutic tool, trauma- informed approaches, and implementing mental health strategies

· Present Doc Wayne’s work at professional conferences, local events, and meetings

· Conduct observations of partners programming (in person or virtual) to best advise, coach, and consult when needed

· Collaborate with current and future members of the Doc Wayne team to seamlessly integrate data, communications materials, and curriculum updates and present them to partners

Partner Management:

· Manage and support a list of Champions Network clients providing updates on services provided and future needs with the Chief Operating Officer

· Document interactions with partners effectively

· Teach partners how to access the Doc Wayne training portal and assist in troubleshooting

Business Development:

· Stay up-to-date on the fields of sport-based youth development, mental health, sports and athletics, public health, and their intersections actions

· Support the Chief Operating Officer on business development efforts including but not limited to introductory meetings, research, outreach, networking, and marketing

Curriculum & Other:

· Design curriculum, meeting materials, breakout sessions, icebreakers, and other learning tools for Doc Wayne’s Champions Network and specific clients

· Collaborate with the Special Initiatives Coordinator to design materials that are suitable for the training portal

· Support interns and staff as needed

· Special projects as assigned


· At least 3-5 years of teaching, training, sales, or related work experience

· Bachelor’s degree preferred; personal and professional experience will be considered as a substitute to a 4-year degree

· Dynamic personality and a genuine belief in Doc Wayne’s mission

· Team player with an entrepreneurial mindset

· Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, and a track record of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

· Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with superior attention to detail

· Willingness to grow and learn within the organization

· Cultural awareness and humility with an understanding of the way in which systems of oppression impact the mental health needs of low-income communities

· Technological proficiency with Microsoft Office and webinar software

· Ability to show initiative and flexibility, meet deadlines, and work independently

· Willingness to travel multiple times per month
